Family-run, regionally rooted and lived with heart
DThe story of the Landgasthaus Zum Alten Fritz begins in 1964, when the parents and grandparents of the current managing director, Beate Rüth, opened the business with great courage, commitment, and passion. From the very beginning, the inn was a meeting place for locals, travelers, and gourmets – a place where everyone felt welcome.
Beate Rüth grew up immersed in this family atmosphere from an early age. After completing her apprenticeship as a chef and passing her master chef's examination in 1998, she gained valuable experience at the renowned Landhaus Carstens restaurant in Timmendorfer Strand. She has been working in her parents' business since the end of 1988 and continues to contribute her expertise and passion for fine cuisine every day..
The 3rd generation – already for 27 years
In 1999, Beate Rüth took over the management of the Landgasthaus and continued her family's tradition with fresh ideas and clear quality standards. Together with her husband, Rainer Rüth, she has shaped the character of the establishment ever since – both in the restaurant and the hotel.
Rainer Rüth also boasts a solid background in the hospitality industry. He completed his apprenticeship at the Petersberg guesthouse in Bonn and later worked at the Maritim Hotel in Cologne. Since 1992, he has been part of the team at the Zum Alten Fritz Landgasthaus, contributing his experience, professionalism, enthusiasm for the profession, and creative passion to the daily operations.
Passion continues to define the house to this day.
Today, Beate and Rainer Rüth run the Landgasthaus together with great personal dedication, a close relationship with their guests, and a high standard of quality. Their focus is not on growth at any cost, but rather on authenticity, reliability, and the family atmosphere of the establishment.
